Have a butchers at our new Video Viral, the Randolf SD Crew have been staying up late watching Pedro Almodovar films and listening to an unhealthy level of electro-funk revival duo Chromeo who played Dublin last week so we thought with the help of Video Artist Al Early we would combine the two, mix it up with a little Ellamenope Jones and see what kind of visual treat we could come up with in just over 60 seconds....

Photographer and multi-talented graphics wizard Seán Kennedy joined us in our rehearsal rooms at The Lab on Foley St. to take some photos for our show Ellamenope Jones last week. We carried three very heavy panes of safety glass to the Lab and had a great time, mostly squashing Natalie Radmal Quirke's gorgeous face against the glass...have a look and tell us your personal fave! Ellamenope Jones, a new musical theatre piece with a contemporary gothic edge, will be presented as a work in progress by Randolf SD. A unique opportunity to see the company’s latest project at development stage. Randolf SD is part of Project Arts Centre’s Associate Artist scheme.

The Corn Exchange Theatre Co. to Host Randolf SD | The Company in 2009!

The Corn Exchange and Randolf SD are delighted to announce a new collaborative hosting project for 2009.

Áine Beamish of The Corn Exchange will be taking over from Róise Goan, (recently appointed Director, Dublin Fringe Festival) as Producer of Randolf SD.

The Corn Exchange Theatre Co. will host Randolf SD | The Company providing mentorship, facilities and services in-kind including payroll, administration, financial management, meeting room and internet facilities.

The Corn Exchange are delighted to support an exciting company such as Randolf SD, and see this project as a natural extension of their long held commitment to collaboration and exchange on every level. The hosting gives artistic and practical advantages to both companies at this stage in their development while allowing each of them to maintain their distinct identities.

Wayne Jordan Artistic Director of Randolf SD remarked 'I've been influenced by The Corn Exchange since my early days as a student and Annie Ryan has been a supporter and friend since I first started directing. This is a very exciting (albeit uncertain) time for Randolf SD after our successes in 08 and we find ourselves brimming with energy and ideas. So we are delighted to enter into this new association with The Corn Exchange and to welcome Áine Beamish to our team.'

The Corn Exchange was founded in 1995 by Artistic Director Annie Ryan. The company consists of a loose ensemble of players who practice their exhilarating trademark style of Commedia dell'Arte, which encourages risk and champions precision through play. Recent Productions include Cat on a Hot Tin Roof and Everyday. The company’s award-winning work includes: Dublin by Lamplight, Mud, Foley, Lolita and Car Show. It has toured nationally and internationally to France, USA, UK and Australia.
